I was walking fast.
Only had a half hour to make the 2 mile distance I wanted to cover on my lunch break.
I would have missed it if a neighbor hadn't been walking their dog at the same time and I paused just long enough to step out of the way.
And there it was...
A splash of color that caught my eye.
Tiny blue flowers, standing out against the newly green grass.
I smiled at the sight of them, and took a moment to appreciate the sunshine on my face and the peacefulness of my neighborhood at that moment.
I don't think we pause enough in life to stop and see the beauty in it.
I know I've blogged about that before, but it's worth repeating.

To appreciate the splashes of color all around us.
Tiny moments that we often move right past without noticing.
Because we are in a hurry to get to the next thing.
Or make it a certain distance before stopping.
How about instead of rushing through life, we seek out the splashes of color in it?
Purposely pay attention to the little things that bring us joy and add meaning to our lives.
I bet they'll multiply if we look for them.
Kind of like when you get a new car and then all of a sudden it feels like you see the same car as yours everywhere.
How great would be it if everywhere we turned, there was something that made us smile?
I'm up for that!
So let's make it our mission to fill our days with a million little happy moments instead of dwelling on the ones that are dull and meaningless.
Let's get out there and look for the splashes of color.
They're everywhere.
