Sometimes I Forget to Take the Sticker Off

I love green peppers.

In my eggs, in a salad, with dip, all by themselves.

So yummy!

But sometimes I forget to take the sticker off when I cut them.

Usually, I notice it during the cutting process.

But every once in awhile, I cut right through it and end up leaving a little bit of the sticker on.

I shake my head and laugh when that happens. I figure it can't hurt me too much to eat a little bit of that sticker, right?

I write a lot in this blog about being our authentic selves, accepting our humanity and laughing at the silly things that we do sometimes.

This is no exception.

And during the holidays, I think it's even more important to embrace our humanity.

So we stay sane.

And to relieve some of the pressure and the anxiety that can come with the season.

We ALL are imperfect.

There's no getting around that. It's just not humanly possible to never make a mistake.

Remind yourself of that this year.

At your holiday gatherings, share stories of the imperfections in your lives.

Talk about what went wrong with the food you prepared, or that gift you wrapped with two different kinds of wrapping paper because you ran out.

Spread the holiday cheer by helping others feel like we're all in this together.

And don't judge when you take that slice of green pepper off of my veggie tray and find a little piece of sticker on it.

I'm only human, after all.

Happy (Imperfect) Holidays!
