Some days I'm in awe at the complexity of the human species.
There's a saying that goes "It takes all kinds to make a world."
I am realizing more and more the truth in that statement. And the truth that life would be awfully boring if this wasn't the case.
I have met so many new, interesting people (virtually for the most part) over the last two months. People with vastly different upbringings than me, living in entirely different cultures, some even with mindsets that are completely opposite from mine.
But no matter how different we are, we all agree on one thing. That each of our individual lives requires a unique way of living.
And it's okay, preferred even, that we don't all do things exactly the same.
We may think that the world would be so much better if everyone thought and acted the exact same way.
But I truly believe that we'd get tired of that after awhile.
After all, there has to be something to passionately debate around the campfire, at least in my family.
It's a beautiful, interesting, ever-changing life we live.
Enjoy the variety in it.
Enjoy the people in it who think and feel differently than you.
Enjoy the mess and the chaos.
And remember all of those who are no longer with us, who died so we could have the freedom to live this way.
Happy Memorial Day!
