There's a snowman hanging in the corner in my living room.
He's been there since Christmas...
Two years ago.
Every once in awhile I spot him when I walk by and think I should take him down.
But he's covering up the wires from the old doorbell we don't use anymore.
So I decide it's not a priority and then I forget about him again.
He'll probably stay there until I move.
I also have a clock in my dining room that I always forget to change when Daylight Savings comes around.
I figure it will be right again eventually.
These things will come full circle.
It will be Christmas and the snowman will be appropriate in just a few months.
My clock will be right again in a couple of weeks.
All will be well in the world.
I laugh about these funny, quirky things about my life because I know I'm not the only one.
I know there are others out there who forget to change their clocks or switch their decorations and then don't bother because eventually it will come back around again.
That's the irony of life. It truly is a circular pattern.
We go around and around, riding this roller coaster ride, from January to January.
We come full circle on holidays, birthdays, changes of seasons.
It's a pattern that helps guide our lives. Gives us a rhythm and some level of predictability in the chaos.
I personally like it.
It's almost like a dance that we have to learn. When to step forward and when to step back.
It's sometimes graceful and many times not.
But when it's time to twirl, and make that full circle, it's an amazingly beautiful thing.
Just don't judge if you come over in July and see my snowman in the corner...
