Three nights this week, I had to pace around my house before bed until I hit that 10,000 step goal on my Fitbit.

Ask my friends. I'm kind of a fanatic about hitting my step goal.

It's been a great motivator for me to stay healthy, though.

It's an interesting balance, trying to find time to exercise, work, take care of my boys, write, and do all of the other things I want to do with my time.

I'm sure you can all relate.

Not enough hours in the day and all that.

Working a job where I spend most of my time in front of a computer or on video calls doesn't help with this either.

I can get those steps in on a daily basis if I make it a priority, though.

That's the key.

We can always find the time to do the things that we believe are truly important.

Now that the weather has been getting warmer here in Wisconsin, I've been trying to get outside and walk after work.

Most nights, I round that last corner on my route just as the sun is going down.

I listen to podcasts or audiobooks when I walk, so often I'm lost in thought, focused on listening and absorbing what I'm learning.

But there's always a point in my walk where the sky catches my eye.

The reds, oranges and purples call to me.

The patterns that the clouds make are striking.

I'm compelled to stop and stare for a minute...or two.

I usually take a couple of pictures.

Sometimes I share them with my social media friends so they can enjoy the beauty too.

And I realize how important it is to pause on my journey and see the beauty around me.

Not just on that after work walk. But every single day of my life.

This world we live in is incredible.

Sometimes breathtaking.

Often heartbreaking.

Always awe-inspiring.

All too often, we don't pause and take time to soak it all in.

Find time every day to stop and see it. To really see it.

Pause.

Breathe deeply.

Take in the colors and the sounds and the people around you.

Reflect on the things in your life that make you grateful.

And enjoy the view.
